Description

If you're looking to camp in Gardners, Pennsylvania, grab your pup and come check out Deer Run Camping Resort. Interestingly, Deer Run is the official Guinness World Record holder for the World's Largest S’more, weighing 267 pounds in total.

Dogs are permitted to camp at Deer Run, but they must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are always expected to scoop up any dog waste in a timely manner. There's a dog park on-site for Sparky to stretch their legs. In addition to the dog park, you and your pooch can explore the famous Appalachian Trail, as it's only 75 yards away from the campground.

Deer Run can accommodate all types of campers. From tent sites to cabin rentals, this resort has it all. Tent sites begin at $30 a night for primitive camping, perfect for an authentically "ruff" outdoor adventure with your pooch. Electric sites or premium tent sites with electric and water are another option. RV sites come with water and electric or full hookup services. RV rentals and cabins are the final option; however, neither are pet-friendly.

In addition to the amenities for your pooch, there's plenty for you to enjoy, too. This campground comes equipped with a baseball diamond as well as basketball and volleyball courts. There's also a playground and pool within the same area. Mini golf and horseshoe pits are available on-site.

If you're interested in venturing off-site, Deer Run Camping Resort is a 20-minute drive from the historic Gettysburg Battlefield. The battlefield is ideal for dog owners as it's home to miles of open space to explore. Pups need to stay on-leash and out of the buildings, museums, and cemeteries.

Back at the campground, you'll find many activities and events scheduled every weekend for children and adults alike. For the more active personalities, there’s a wide array of hiking trails and rivers where you can explore and fish. If you’re interested in learning and want an alternative to the outdoors, check out the museums and other cultural attractions in the nearby area.

Pennsylvania's Deer Run Camping Resort offers guests and their pups unlimited access to amenities and entertainment. Swing by with your tent or RV and explore everything this historic part of Pennsylvania has to offer!
