Grab your pooch and get yourselves to Dworshak Reservoir, where the good times never end! This state park is dedicated to outdoor fun, offering everything from water skiing to archery. Whatever time of year you visit, you and your furry pal will have so much to do, you'll have a hard time fitting it all into one trip!
The grounds here have everyone covered, with campsites offering all types of hookup options as well as a lodge and cabins (one of which allows puppers inside). Amenities are also abundant, including ice and firewood for purchase, drinking water, a dump station, and a nearby marina. For everything else, a short drive will get you to Orifino, a small town where you can fill up on gas and grab supplies for your adventure. Inside the campground, cell service is choppy, so keep that in mind.
To get into Dworshak State Park, you'll have to purchase a parking permit, which costs $5 per day. Campsite fees start at $12 per night for a basic lot during the off-season and go all the way up to $29 for a full-hookup site from April until September.
This spot prides itself on how much fun you can have while you're here, and no place is this more obvious than out on the water! Whether you like crashing through the waves at full speed or teetering your way around on a paddleboard, all types of aquatic fun are allowed in the reservoir. There is a beach area as well, although it doesn't seem to be the main draw of the park. Out of the water, you can spend your days playing volleyball, going mountain biking, practicing at the archery range, or having a good ol' game of horseshoes. Or, to get your woofer the exercise they so badly need, hit one of the many trails that wind through the grounds.
When it comes to our furry friends, all that the park asks is that you keep your canine compadre on a standard leash and clean up after them throughout your stay.
For a camping trip stuffed with outdoor activities, add Dworshak State Park to your must-visit list!
