Description

Standing at a 2695-foot elevation, this rustic, dog-friendly campground lies on the banks of East Weaver Creek in the Weaverville area. While primarily a tent campground, it can accommodate small trailers in a third of its spurs. The spurs are dirt while the road is paved. It is an amazing place to camp and hike. Avid hiking groups love it as numerous trails provide lead to the Trinity Alps Wilderness.

There are 10 campsites, each site offering a table and a stove/grill. Fire rings and a vault toilet are also provided. Hookups are not provided. You can shop for groceries, food, bait, and fuel in Weaverville - only 1.5 miles out. Remember to buy some poop bags when traveling with Fido. Potable water is available at the campground. There are plenty of trees, providing nicely shaded areas. Visitors are blown away by the splendor of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Wouldn’t you love to camp beneath such a majestic sight? Activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, OHV, and wildlife watching. Water-related activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, paddling, and whitewater rafting are also available.

If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can follow the trail leading up to East Weaver Creek. The several trailheads leading to the Trinity Alps Wilderness are just a quick walk from the campground. You are requested not to move firewood. This helps protect California’s forests from pests. Buy your own firewood and burn it onsite.

Whether you have a tent or a tin can travel trailer, this is the place to be. The average maximum trailer size is 40 feet. Sites are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Treat yourself and your doggo to the majestic views - and maybe some thrills. From the grandeur of the wilderness to the convenience of nearby town, East Weaver Group Campground offers the winning combination for campers.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
