Eisenhower State Park

If you're planning on camping in Kansas with your favorite pupper, we're pretty sure you'd be totally tickled at Eisenhower State Park. Don't let the presidential name scare you off -- the grounds are definitely not formal, though park management does take great service seriously. With rolling, grassy hills, a tall pine forest, and a large man-made lake, this facility has everything you need for an unforgettable outdoor vacation.

You'll find all kinds of accommodations here, including basic campsites, lots with hookup options, cabins, and even 2 yurts (though neither the yurts or the cabins allow our fluffy pals inside). The campsites are spacious and provide concrete pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. Drinking water is accessible on-site as is a dump station. Visitors rave about the small camp store, where your woofer may even snag a free treat if they're on their best behavior!

To get into the park, a $5 vehicle permit must be purchased. Campsites cost $10 a night no matter the season, while rates for cabins and yurts start at $45 and go up based on size.

Eisenhower State Park is known for its fields full of tall grass. While you're trekking through the terrain, be sure to keep your eyes open to spot all sorts of creatures, including herons, deer, and even a turkey or two! Back at the lake, campers spend their days sunbathing, swimming, and fishing. There are boat rentals in the park, so you'll be able to get in on the good times even if you don't have a kayak or canoe of your own. 

Canine guests are welcome throughout the park -- except inside of buildings and at the beach area. During your stay, make sure you keep your doggo leashed and always clean up any messes they leave behind!
