Emigration Campground

Emigration Campground rests in southeastern Idaho near the city of Montpelier. It's one of the area’s most popular campgrounds, and that’s no surprise given its great location and well-kept facilities. It rests in Caribou-Targhee National Forest, a large region covering over 4,000 square miles in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. 

Emigration Campground provides you with front-row seats for viewing the forest's flora, fauna, and unique geological features. The campground also has access to the wide array of outdoor recreation sites in the area. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy at Emigration Campground. Dogs are welcome at the campground too, so bring Sparky along for the adventure!

Emigration Campground has 26 sites. Standard sites are $17 per night, and double sites are available for $28. There are also three group sites with nightly rates of $67 and $87. Many of the campsites can accommodate trailers up to 40 feet, and they all get plenty of shade from the surrounding forest. The sites are equipped with campfire rings with grills and picnic tables. You also have access to drinking water, a picnic shelter, and an amphitheater here.

The campground is a wonderful location where you can relax and take in the scenery. However, you won’t want to miss out on the area’s great activities. Head to Highline National Recreation Trail for a hiking excursion you and your precious pooch won't soon forget! Spanning over 55 miles, the trail gives you plenty of room to explore the area’s amazing features and wildlife. Keep in mind, though, that this trail is open to motorized vehicles in addition to hikers and bikers -- if you've got a timid pup at the end of that leash, you might want to sniff out another option.

Remember to keep your dog leashed at all times. Please clean up after your canine companion as well to keep this campground open to canine campers.
