Description

Father Dyer Campground is a peaceful campground set in the heart of Colorado. It rests in a pine forest next to Turquoise Lake, and it is only 15 minutes from the town of Leadville. With the campground’s amazing setting and all the outdoor activities in the area, it comes as no surprise that it is one of the most popular spots in Colorado for all kinds of campers. One of the best features of the campground is that dogs are welcome there, so you and your pooch can spend some quality time exploring the outdoors at Father Dyer Campground!

At the campground, you can find a number of amenities and features that will make your stay more enjoyable. The campground offers a number of single-family sites, and each site has a picnic table, campfire ring, and grill. There is also drinking water provided at the campground as well as trash collection. You’ll probably want to head out and experience some of the area’s great activities. A good place to start is Turquoise Lake, which is a popular destination for canoeing and fishing. There is also a 1.2-mile trail near the lake, the appropriately named Turquoise Lake Nature Trail. This trail provides a great opportunity for hiking through the forest and observing some of the area’s amazing wildlife!

When you’re planning your visit to Father Dyer Campground, there are a few things you will want to be aware of. The $24 fee is for overnight camping, but if you are just planning to stay for the day, the fee is just $7. Note that each campsite can accommodate two vehicles or one RV, and there is an additional fee for extra vehicles. Also, be bear-aware and store and disposed of food properly.

Your next camping trip in Colorado will be a blast, and you and your pooch will be glad you chose Father Dyer Campground!
