The campground sits in a rolling valley that is dotted with trees and forests. You will have a view of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain, which is a stunning sight to behold every day you get to wake up and explore the area. The campsites are in a fir and pine forest, so you will get the smell of fresh pine and the trees will provide lots of shade, giving you relief from the blazing, hot sun, especially during the summertime.
Some of the most popular activities in the area include boating, hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, and relaxing. There is a designated swim beach on the lake, which is the perfect spot to get clean and cool off since there are no showers at this location. You will also have access to an interpretive nature trail right from the campground, and Pacific Crest Trail runs right next to the lake, as well, with easy access from the campground area.
Amenities you can expect to find at the campground include flushing toilets, fresh drinking water, campfire rings, picnic tables, a firewood vendor, and camp host. Dogs are welcome at the site, but they should wear a leash at all times and never be left unattended. You must clean up after your pooch does their business and discard the poop bags properly.
Overall, Fir Top Campground lies in an excellent location that is quiet, peaceful, and away from major roads. With lots of shade and scenic views, you cannot go wrong!
