Description

California is home to a multitude of national parks which offer visitors exciting adventures and places to camp under the stars. While many of those showcase the beauty of California’s forests, the Little Lasier Meadows Campground within Tahoe National Park has something unique to offer. Here, there are 11 equestrian campsites, complete with hitching posts and corrals on-site. Plus, as with most national forests, you are welcome to bring along Fido to join you on your visit!

This beautiful primitive camp is located a little under a mile away from the Jackson Meadow Reservoir, which locals know as a hidden gem. This high-altitude lake sits at a whopping 6,100 feet above sea level, in a valley on the crest of the Sierra Nevada. This clearing is also accessible via the Pacific Crest Trail, which skirts the eastern edge of the lake, lending beautiful sights of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain.

Whether you are planning on going hiking, swimming, or just exploring, you and your whole family can have fun here – four-legged members included! As per national forest regulations, you’ll have to keep Fido on a six-foot (or shorter) leash, even at your campsite. You should also keep an eye on the fire restrictions of the area, as they will tell you if you are allowed to light a fire at the available campfires. Be sure to cover all your food and store it appropriately so you don't attract any unwanted predators.

There are no showers or flushable toilets on site, but you will have access to vault toilets, potable drinking water, and picnic tables. The Little Lasier Meadows Campground is a heavily trafficked area, particularly during the summer, so families that pre-fur tranquility might consider visiting in spring and winter.

The Little Lasier Meadows Campground is the pawfect vacation destination for pups and pet parents that wish to appreciate nature in one of its purest forms. Make a reservation at one of their available campsites today!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
