If you’d like to go on a short and scenic trek, try the mile-long Drouillard Creek Loop Trail. This trail takes you through a forest area filled with native trees. If you’d rather go for a hike along the picturesque Ohio River, try the 2.5-mile Hickory Nut Ridge Trail. This trail also takes you past the historic Outpost Cemetery as well as through a lovely wooded area.
Fort Massac State Park also has a historic site to explore with your pup. This site is home to a replica of the 19th-century fort that once stood in the park. As you walk around the area, you’ll see plaques that provide information about what life in the area was like in the 1800s.
