If you want to camp in a beautiful, historic park with your pup, Fort Massac State Park is perfect for you!  This park’s campground offers numerous RV and tent campsites, and many of these sites have electrical hookups. The campground also has tons of amenities you and your pup will both love!

If you want to spend your camping trip hiking, Fort Massac State Park has tons of pawesome trails for you to check out. If you’d like to go on a short and scenic trek, try the mile-long Drouillard Creek Loop Trail. This trail takes you through a forest area filled with native trees. If you’d rather go for a hike along the picturesque Ohio River, try the 2.5-mile Hickory Nut Ridge Trail. This trail also takes you past the historic Outpost Cemetery as well as through a lovely wooded area.

Fort Massac State Park also has a historic site to explore with your pup. This site is home to a replica of the 19th-century fort that once stood in the park. As you walk around the area, you’ll see plaques that provide information about what life in the area was like in the 1800s.

After your hike, you and your pup can relax at the campground and enjoy its many fun activities. If you’re hungry, grill up dinner on one of the campground’s charcoal grills. You can then enjoy your grub at one of the campground’s scenic picnic tables. The campground also has lots of campfire rings, and firewood is available for purchase. Plus, Fort Massac State Park’s campground is also just a short walk from pawesome tennis courts, baseball fields, and a playground.
