Description

Fox Ridge State Park is a stunning, forest-filled park with plenty of great activities for you and your furry best friend! This campground offers over 40 campsites and two rustic cabins, and most of these campsites are shady. The campground is open year-round — but just be aware that the shower building is closed from November to April. The nightly rates at this furrific campground start at $10.00. While no permit is required to reserve a single campsite, you may need a permit if you're looking to stay at a group site.

While you’re at Fox Ridge State Park, you’ll find lots of fun things to do with your pup. If you and your dog enjoy hiking, the park offers eight scenic trails. If you’d like to hike along the Embarras River, hop on the 0.5-mile Riverview Trail. This trail connects to the 1.5-mile No-Name Trail, allowing you to easily extend your hike. You can also take a lovely stroll through the forest on the 1.3-mile Trail of Trees or the 1.5-mile Acorn Avenue Trail.

If you’d like to get great views of Fox Ridge State Park, climb up to the Eagle’s Nest Overlook. This overlook is situated on a scenic bluff above the Embarras River, and to reach the overlook, you’ll have to climb 144 steps. While you’re at the overlook, you may get to see some of the park’s native birds, including hawks, owls, quails, pheasants, and turkey vultures.

After you’ve finished your day’s adventures, you can relax at the campground. The campground offers charcoal grills that are perfect for grilling up burgers or hot dogs for you and your furry best friend. Each campsite also comes with a campfire ring where you can create a cozy fire.

Fox Ridge State Park is a fun-filled campground with plenty of puptastic activities for you and your dog. Remember to bring doggy bags so you can clean up after your dog while you’re camping, and enjoy your trip to this lovely park!
