Galesburg East Campground is a full-service campground located in Knoxville, Illinois. The family-friendly campground is situated in a quiet, peaceful location filled with greenery and offering countless amenities for patrons and their four-legged family members to enjoy. The campground offers tent and RV camping, with 30 and 50 amp hookups available, as well as rental cabins.
The Galesburg East Campground is highly rated because of its features, accessibility, and friendly hosts. A tall cornfield surrounds the north part of the campground, which adds to the cozy, country-setting. There are 67 sites available, all of which are level, spacious, and pull-through, with full hookups available. The tent sites are private, and the campground features a fire pit and picnic tables in the day use area. There are restrooms with flushing toilets and hot showers, and a laundry facility on-site. There are garbage bins placed throughout the camp’s grounds which help keep the campground clean and make it easy for pet parents to pick up after their furry friends. Please pack plenty of doggy waste bags to last your whole stay. Although dogs should be kept leashed most of the time, there is a large, grassy field where they can enjoy leash-free fun and exercise. Although the grass is mowed and well-maintained, check your dogs for ticks after any prolonged stays outdoors to keep them healthy and safe.
The campground features a camp store with firewood for sale, a stocked fishing pond, a heated swimming pool, a clubhouse, and an LP station. If that wasn’t enough, there is a playground for kids to enjoy and plenty of grassy space for owners to walk their dogs. It is a great destination for a family trip with countless activities and attractions nearby. From fishing in the pond, swimming in the pool, and hiking through the beautiful country terrain, both kids and adults will find plenty of fun ways to spend time. Make sure to check out the grassy, mile-long trail around the pond and through the forest, especially if you and your leashed canine companion enjoy birdwatching. If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can rent out a bicycle on-site.
