Garfield Bay Campground is a public campground located by Garfield Bay, which is part of Lake Pend Oreille in Sagle, Idaho. The county-maintained campground features 15 tent sites and 29 RV sites. It is conveniently located and easily accessible, and offers an ideal location for fishing, boating, and hiking, which is one of the reasons it is so pawpular during the summer months!
The dog-friendly campground is equipped with picnic tables and fire pits at each site, as well as vault toilets, a dump station, and a marina just across from the campground. The marina features a boat ramp and dock, a pump out station, and public restrooms. This makes it incredibly easy for campers to enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and fishing without having to travel far from their campground base. Since the campground is situated close to the Mineral Point trail, it is also a great hiking destination. The popular trail is considered to be one of the most scenic in the area and features views of the beautiful Lake Pend Oreille and mountains in the distance.Â
The campground is surrounded by thick greenery and mature trees, which provide plenty of shade and privacy. All the sites offer a good amount of room for patrons to enjoy away from other campers. Although the campground sits by a lake, campsites do not have lakeside views due to the forest that stands tall in between. Instead, visitors get to wake up to treetop views and the sound of birds chirping. Canines are welcome to join their owners but need to be under their owner’s supervision at all times.Â
Camping here will make you feel as if you are camping in a remote, wilderness location without actually having to sacrifice the comfort of nearby conveniences, such as a restaurant within a mile of the campground. The town of Sagle is just eight miles away, where you will find grocery stores, an ATM, and plenty of dining options.Â
Campsites start at $10 to $15 per night depending on the site type.Â
