Gaslight Campground

The state of Pennsylvania is renowned for its scenic beauty. The quaint city of Emlenton is home to a campground where families can spend the summer in a holiday haven designed to please all ages.

Gaslight Campground is a 29-acre oasis of fun with sites for backpackers wanting to pitch a tent and gravel/dirt sites for RVers looking to spend time in a quiet, country setting. Beautiful shade trees and full hookups are just a couple of the many amenities offered here. Sites are fairly level with a picnic table, fire ring, and easy pull-through access. Daily rates for RVs are between $37 and $40, while a tent site is $25 to $30 a night. If you’re traveling light, a rustic cabin might appeal, with some featuring a kitchenette, bathroom, and porch. However, the cabins are not pet-friendly.

The grounds are well-maintained with pristine restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities so campers can get on with making memories of good times spent swimming in the pool, teaching junior anglers how to fish in the catch-and-release pond, or getting a few teams together for a friendly game of basketball and horseshoes. The hosts have a few ideas of their own and encourage guests to be part of their themed weekend parties, which include card games and karaoke.

You won’t have to leave the family pooch at home as the welcome mat is permanently out for furry friends. Camping canines are required to stay on a leash and be monitored at all times by their guardians, who are also expected to pick up their waste. There is a limit of two pet pals per site, and woofers can look forward to sniffing out new scents on daily walks. 

The nearby town of Emlenton features an oil mining history with Victorian-themed, millionaire houses still standing as a reminder of booming times. The Allegheny River is a playground for fishing fans and folks who love to get out on the water, with an adjoining trail where pooches can walk on-leash.
