Description

Glacier Basin Campground is set in the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park of northern Colorado. The campground is one of the most visited in the area, and that’s no surprise given its scenic surroundings and great location. It is an ideal destination for anyone who wants to experience the amazing Colorado outdoors — lots of recreation sites are located near the campground, and the area is known for its varied flora and fauna. The campground welcomes furry paws, so you can bring your dog along too!

Glacier Basin is a large campground that offers 152 sites to visitors. There are a few different types of site: some are family tent-only sites, and others are RV sites with no hookups. The nightly fee for a site is $26. The campground is pleasantly shaded by pine, fir, and spruce trees, and you may spot some picturesque wildflowers around the premises as well. (Note that some of the trees in the C, D, and group loops have been removed — sites in these areas may not be completely shaded.) The main amenities you have access to are picnic tables, fire rings with grates, tent pads, paved parking spurs, and drinking water.

Lots of activities can be found around the campground. There are over 300 miles of trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, so hiking enthusiasts will have plenty of choices! There are also some trails suitable for scenic drives. If you’re interested in fishing, there are plenty of small lakes and streams throughout the park that you can stop by.

There are some things you should take into consideration when you’re planning your visit to Glacier Basin. Cell phone reception is unreliable at the campground, so don’t expect to have complete coverage. You can purchase firewood, but gathering your own is prohibited. Bears, elk, raccoons, and skunks all call the area home, so make sure you store your food safely!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
