Description

If you and your pup want to go camping next to a peaceful creek, Gore Creek Campground is perfect for you! This campground is located in White River National Forest, and it’s surrounded by pine and aspen trees that keep the campsites shady and cool. The campground has eight walk-in tent sites, and it has 16 small back-in sites that can fit RVs that are less than 35 feet long. While you’re at Gore Creek, you’ll find plenty of pawesome things to do with your dog!

If you love hiking, Gore Creek is a great choice for you. There are three trailheads just a short walk from Gore Creek: the 5.48-mile Gore Creek Trail, the 9.0-mile Deluge Creek Trail, and the 11-mile Two Elk Trail. These steep trails all take you through the beautiful Eagles Nest Wilderness, and they provide great views of the surrounding area. As you’re walking, you may get to see some of White River National Forest’s native wildlife, including elk, mule deer, pika, and bighorn sheep.

Gore Creek is also very popular with fly-fishermen. The creek is home to a wide variety of freshwater fish, including brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout. If you catch a few fish, you can grill them up on your campsite’s personal charcoal grill. Campsites also come with campfire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof food lockers. There’s no drinking water available at Gore Creek, though, so be sure to bring plenty with you.

If you want to go for a fun day trip while you’re camping, Vail is just six miles away. This ski resort town has tons of parks to walk in with your pup, and it also has lots of dog-friendly restaurants. You and your dog will both have fun exploring this town!

Gore Creek is a fun campground that offers tons of great things to do with your pup. Bring some doggy bags so you can clean up after your dog while you’re camping, and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
