Graham Creek Campground

In San Juan National Forest, next to the cool, calm waters of Vallecito Lake, you can find Graham Creek Campground. This campground is a go-to destination for Colorado camping aficionados because of its spectacular view of the lake and its peaceful atmosphere. It is close to many outdoor recreation sites, so there are plenty of ways to explore the area during your stay. Best of all, the campground is pet-friendly, so you can bring your dog along with you!

The campground houses 25 sites, all of which have a nightly fee of $22. Some of the sites are well-shaded by the surrounding forest, but there are also some with more sunlight exposure. If you want to venture out and experience some of the area’s furrific outdoor recreation opportunities, you will have plenty of places to choose from. The closest site is the reservoir next to the camp. It is separated from the campground by willow trees, but there are paths through them that provide access for campers. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, and boating there. If you head to the reservoir’s south shore, you will find a charming little picnic area. There are also lots of trails in the area, providing plentiful opportunities for hikers. North Canyon Trail is close to the campground, and East Creek Trail is just a quarter-mile to the northeast.

Note that the sites at Graham Creek Campground can accommodate large RVs, but you will want to use caution because the roads are steep at the entrance and exit. Also, be aware of any fire restrictions that may be in place due to dry weather conditions.
