Description

Granite Hill Camping Resort is more than just a campground -- it's actually home to the annual Bluegrass Gettysburg Festival. Located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, this dog-friendly campground has over 150 acres of diverse landscape for your pooch to explore.

With 300 campsites to choose from, Granite Hill feels more like a resort than a campground. From primitive tent camping to vehicle camping to cabin rentals, there are accommodations to meet the needs of all campers. Primitive tent sites are available beginning at $37 per night. Various options are offered for upgraded sites, including water and electric (30 or 50 amp), or fully loaded sites that also come with sewage hookups. Sites that have 50 amp electrical services cost slightly more than 30 amp sites, but the hookups are ideal for larger RVs. Cabin and B&B rentals are another option, but unfortunately, only if you leave Fido behind because they're not dog-friendly.

With so much to do at Granite Hill, it's easy to find ways to occupy your time. For starters, the campground comes equipped with a swimming pool, trout fishing pond, and a bass fishing pond that's 3 acres in size. Not an angler? Not to worry -- there's plenty of sports activities including a tennis court, basketball court, horseshoes, shuffleboard, softball field, and sand volleyball courts, just to name a few. Not to mention there's a cafe perfect for treating yourself and your pup. Four playgrounds, planned activities, and hayrides are some ways to keep the kids busy. You can also check out the Civil War farmhouse located right within the park grounds.

When it comes to your pup, Granite Hill Camping Resort offers acres of maintained parkland designated as the dog walk area. In addition to this, the fenced-in dog park offers plenty of room for dogs to wander off-leash. The dog area and dog walk are both "pawfect" opportunities for you and your pup to socialize. While visiting Granite Hill, keep your pup on their leash when outside of the dog park area and tidy up after them. Leaving your pup unattended is also forbidden for their safety.

For the dog-loving history buffs out there, Granite Hill Camping Resort couldn't bring you any closer to remnants of the Civil War. Grab your pooch and head to this Gettysburg campground for the luxury and comfort that awaits you.
