Drive-through sites with easy connections to electricity (30/50 amp), water, sewer, and wifi bring in the RVer's who pay a daily rate of $46.66 for the privilege. Sites are level with gravel pads and plenty of grassy space either side. Tall, bushy trees provide much-needed shade with gravel/dirt access roads and immaculate restrooms, showers, and a laundry. A picnic table and fire ring are also provided.
This is where you go to get away from it all and breathe in the wilderness ambiance, with opportunities to explore the Wet Mountain Valley, only 5 miles from the camp and a visionary space where the locals are dedicated to keeping the night skies a universal wonder of stars.
If you’ve come to find inner peace, the campground will shake off the worries of life and leave you energized as the area is prime for hiking, with breathtaking alpine trails. Grape Creek meanders through the park offering catch-and-release fishing for the keen angler.
The park has secluded tent areas with a nightly rate of $21.05, plus two log cabins with a verandah and bunk beds. A clubhouse is ideal for local events or family reunions, with the summer months and special holidays being peak times when it would pay to book ahead if you want to secure a site. This is a popular retreat where fearless adventurers will be in their element planning a trip to the Rainbow Trail, an epic walk along the edge of the magnificent Sangre de Christo Mountains.
Pets can come to the park and are allowed in the tent area and cabins. However, pooches must remain on a leash in the park. Make sure you pack litter bags so you can clean up their waste. A dog walking area lets woofers explore the great outdoors, including the Rainbow Trail.
