If you want to camp with your dog near a scenic lake, Gull Point State Park is perfect for you! This campground is located on lovely West Okoboji Lake, and it has over 100 beautiful campsites available. The daily rate for this furrific campground is $6.00 for non-electrical sites and $11.00 for sites with electrical hookups.
While you’re at Gull Point State Park, you’ll find plenty of fun things to do with your dog. If you and your dog love hiking together, hop on the 1.5-mile Barney Peterson Nature Trail. This trail takes you in a loop around Gull Point State Park, and it provides great water views. As you’re walking, you may get to see some of the park’s native wildlife, including white-tailed deer and a wide variety of different songbirds.
The campground is also close to the beautiful Iowa Great Lakes Trail. This 14-mile trail takes you around Big Spirit Lake, East Okoboji Lake, and West Okoboji Lake. This fun trail is the perfect way to spend the day with your furry best friend!
If you’re a water lover, there are also plenty of great activities for you at Gull Point State Park. Motorized and non-motorized boats are both allowed on West Okoboji Lake, and a boat ramp is available near the campground. You can also try your luck fishing for catfish, crappies, walleyes, northern pike, perch, bluegills, bullheads, yellow bass, and much more in the lake. If you don’t have your own fishing equipment, rentals are available at stores near the campground.
