Description

With a scenic lake, abundant wildlife, and heaps of opportunities for recreation and relaxation, Hills Creek State Park is the pawfect spot for a pet-friendly family vacation. Located in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, the 407-acre park is well worth a visit for any outdoor enthusiast.

The lake is the park's focal point and ideal for swimming, boating, and fishing. A sand beach is open from late-May to mid-September, while Hills Creek Lake has three boat mooring areas with a total capacity of 30 boats. If you're planning on casting a line, the lake is home to a wide range of warm-water species.

When you're not on the water, there are 5.5 miles of hiking trails to explore. The 3-mile Lakeside Trail is the most popular, while cross-country skiing is permitted on all trails during the winter months.

Located at the northern end of the park, the Hills Creek State Park campground features 85 sites, some of which are open and grassy while others are surrounded by towering hemlock trees. Many sites have electric hook-ups, and some have water, sewer, and electric hook-ups. Please note that pets are only allowed on designated campsites, while two of the park's 10 cabins also permit dogs. There are no entrance fees for Pennsylvania state parks, but camping fees vary depending on the type of site you select.

If you are camping with your pet, take care to stick to those areas of Hills Creek State Park designated as pet-friendly. You'll also need to keep your pet leashed and under control at all times, not to mention clean up after your furry friend whenever required.

Once you've taken care of these simple but important responsibilities, there's nothing left to do except enjoy this beautiful park. Hills Creek State Park has plenty to offer, so get out there and explore it all with your canine companion!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
