Junction Creek Campground

Looking to get away from it all and reconnect with nature? Look no further than Junction Creek Campground! This campground, located in Durango, Colorado, has campsites equipped for both tent and RV camping. As the name suggests, this campground is located on Junction Creek. If you were hoping for a bigger body of water, that's no problem -- Haviland Lake is just a 30-minute drive away. Less than one mile away, you can access the nearby river, along with hiking and mountain biking trails. Just because you're taking a vacation doesn't mean you can't get in some exercise!

We're sure Fido would appreciate a hike or two, too! Your dog can join you on the trails. Both the campground and nearby trails have the same rules: Your dog must be on a leash that's no longer than six feet. Remember to clean up after your dog, which is going to require you to bring along waste bags -- at least, we hope so, as the park doesn't provide any. 

If you're not into hiking, your dog can just chill at the campground with you. There's a spot on-site for playing horseshoes, and there's also a volleyball court. Some fishermen have had luck catching a fish or two in the shallow creek, which would be perfect to grill up on one of the grills provided at each campsite. Each individual campsite also includes a campfire ring that you can use to make delicious s'mores. Don't forget the marshmallows!

Each campsite is covered by trees, so you won't have to worry about getting overheated. Fresh drinking water is provided for you, though, so there's no excuse for getting dehydrated. Drink up!
