Note that, while shower and restroom facilities are available, they are closed in the winter and you'll only have access to vault toilets.

The park has tons of scenic lakeside trails, including the 10.2-mile Main Trail, which goes in a loop around Lake Darling. There’s also the 0.8-mile Lake Shore Loop, which takes you through a woodland area and passes by a historic cemetery. The Lake Shore Loop also connects to the 1.8-mile East Loop Trail, allowing you to easily extend your hike.
Lake Darling State Park is also home to the beautiful 0.5-mile Prairie Trail, which takes you through an area filled with native prairie grass. There’s also the pawesome 1.3-mile Rubio Trail, which goes in a loop around a peaceful creek. No matter which trail you choose, you and your dog are sure to have fun hiking here!
Lake Darling is also a furrific choice for anglers. If you’re bringing a boat, there are two boat ramps you can use to launch into the lake. Boats are also available to rent from the park’s boathouse. You can also try your luck catching bullheads, bluegills, and largemouth bass from the lakeshore. At the end of the day, you and your pup can relax at your campsite and enjoy views of the lake. If you get cold, you can build a fire in your campsite’s campfire ring.
