Enjoy modern amenities when you camp at Lake of Three Fires State Park. This pawtastic facility has six heated cabins and over 100 RV and tent sites, many of which have electrical hookups. Other amenities include tables, fire rings, a playground, and reservable shelters. Flush toilets and showers are available during the summer months.Â
This is a grrr-eat place to relax in the woods with your friends or family. You'll have access to a variety of recreational opportunities like swimming, boating, hiking, and fishing here. Nightly rates vary depending on your accommodations and start at just $6 for primitive sites.
The campground and shelters are located on the eastern side of the lake. Set up camp under the oak and hickory trees near the water. Take your boat to one of the ramps to cruise on the 85-acre reservoir, but keep in mind there's a no-wake rule in effect here. Anglers can enjoy fishing for bass, bluegill, catfish, and crappie from their own watercraft, from one of the jetties, or the shoreline.Â
Prefer to stay on dry land? Explore the 691 acres of woods that surround the water. There are eight miles of mixed-use trails in the property. The pathways intertwine as they head around the lake. Take advantage of the routes to spot spring wildflowers and to enjoy scenic lake views. You'll pass through some wetlands and prairie remnants in addition to the old-growth woods when you hike here.
As long as Fido stays on-leash, your pal is welcome here. As always, supervise your barking buddy at all times and clean up after them. Some of the cabins permit dogs for an additional fee.
Plan a camping vacation for the whole family -- four-legged members included! -- at Lake of Three Fires State Park. Spend your days wandering through the woods, playing on the water, and enjoying the natural beauty. Be aware that hunting zones are available just north and south of the facility.
