Lakeview Gunnison

Lakeview Campground in Gunnison, Colorado is one of the state’s premier camping destinations. The campground has 45 sites that can accommodate up to eight campers each, and the nightly fee for a site is $20 for nonelectric and $28 for electric. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring, and the campground also has vault restrooms, drinking water, and trash collection. The campground is well-shaded by ponderosa and lodgepole pine trees and sits next to both the reservoir and a sagebrush valley. The Sawatch Mountains in the distance add to this truly magical setting.

There are many recreational activities in the area that will appeal to both outdoor enthusiasts and casual campers. The Taylor Park Reservoir is a popular fishing spot; it's stocked with rainbow, brown, and trophy lake trout as well as northern pike. Fishing and boating equipment can be rented at the marina. There are also off-road trails in the area for those interested in hiking and wildlife viewing. Some of the trails closest to the campground are Doctor Park Trail, Taylor River Trail, and Taylor Vista Trail.
