Designed for guests to have an authentic prairie experience, the Lighthouse Landing RV Park and Cabins is a campground with historical roots and themes. At this dog-friendly location, be prepared to travel back in time. Here, you'll see cabins that are actual replicas of old-time prairie homes in addition to an old school house that has been transformed into the campground office, giving a real Western feel. This campground is ideal for history buffs and dog lovers alike.Â
Lighthouse Landing is a dog-friendly campground with few rules to follow. Dog leashes are required and can't exceed 6 feet in length. All pups must also be cleaned up after in a timely fashion. There are no dog breed restrictions, but excessive barking and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and can result in your pooch being removed from the campground, without a refund.Â
Situated in southern Kansas, Lighthouse Landing strives to meet the needs of all campers by having a variety of site options available. In total, there are 32 RV sites for rent, all of which come fully loaded with all hookups (water, electric and sewage). Almost all these sites are pull-through aside from two back-in sites and they can accommodate larger rigs.Â
If you're looking for that Western experience, do check out one of the cabin rentals where you feel like you're in an old-time prairie home. Even though they're designed to replicate buildings from the past, these cabins are truly comfortable and come with amenities not found on vehicle sites, such as sleeping quarters and washroom facilities. Fortunately, all cabins are dog-friendly, so your pooch can enjoy the upgraded accommodations with you. There is, however, a $25 deposit required for every pet staying in a cabin. If any damages occur during your stay, your deposit will not be refunded.Â
One of the best qualities of Lighthouse Landing is the abundance of amenities offered to guests. All sites come with picnic tables and fire rings. Propane and wood are available for purchase at a campground store. Wireless internet is available at sites and so is laundry. As the campground is constantly undergoing developments and improvement, you and your pup can look forward to new hiking trails that are soon to be installed in and around the campground. Tent sites are also in the works and should be available by the summer of 2019.
Camping can become repetitive, so if you're looking for a distinctive campground full of unique experiences, you'd be barking mad not to check out Lighthouse Landing RV Park and Cabins, which is a real blast from the past! Here, you and your pooch can get a taste of Western living while experiencing past prairie life. Â
