Description

If you're looking for a place in nature to kick back and relax with your furry pal by your side, Kansas has the spot for you! Lovewell State Park brings all of your favorite activities to a forest on the shores of Lovewell Reservoir -- a calm body of water perfect for all kinds of aquatic fun!

The camping facilities in this park are vast, with nearly 400 campsites being offered including all types of hookup options. If you feel more comfortable with sturdy walls around you, there are 10 cabins available for rent on-site -- and we're happy to report that 4 of them are totally pup-friendly! The park also boasts several restroom and shower buildings, one of which is open year-round. Each lot comes with a fire ring and a picnic table, and two dump stations can be accessed on the premises. No matter when you visit or what type of hookups you need, staying at Lovewell will cost you $10 a night. You'll also need to acquire a camping permit in addition to the daily parking permit, which costs $5.

When you're not paddling away on the waves or water-skiing your heart out, you can try a game of disc golf, volleyball, or horseshoes with friends. If history is your thing, be sure to check out the limestone schoolhouse located in one of the day-use areas of the park! The grounds around the lake are pup-tacularĀ for walks with your woofer. You can catch your dinner while you're here by fishing in the reservoir, and then using one of the two fish-cleaning stations provided to make chowing down on your scaly prize even easier!

As with most state parks, doggos are welcome on the property but must stay on-leash during their entire visit. Be a good pup parent by properly cleaning up after your furry pal, and remember that our barky buddies are not allowed to hang out on the beach or in the designated swimming areas.

For a relaxing getaway to the woods of Kansas, add Lovewell State Park to your campground bucket list!
