Lower Penstemon Campground is a furrific location for camping in southern Idaho. If you want to leave the stresses of daily life behind and experience the awesome Idaho outdoors scene, you’ve found the perfect spot to do it! The campground has a pleasant setting in the woodlands of Sawtooth National Forest, and it also has well-kept amenities that provide you with everything you need. Lower Penstemon Campground is also located near a variety of great outdoor recreation sites, so you will have plenty of ways to explore the surrounding area. Because the campground is pet-friendly, you can even bring your dog along with you!
The campground has 6 pawesome campsites you can choose from. The nightly fee for a site is $8, and sites come with a picnic table and a campfire ring with attached grill. You and your pooch will have plenty of shade from the beautiful mixed conifers that surround the premises. Some of the other amenities at the campground include drinking water, vault restrooms, and gravel parking spurs.
If you’re looking for some activities to fill your time during your stay, you'll be happy to know there's paw-lenty of options both within the campground and just a bone's throw away! Trout fishing is available at Rock Creek nearby. You can also find many trails in the area, such as Rim View and Third Fork. Third Fork is a moderate, dog-friendly loop trail that runs over eight miles. Rim View Trail is a bit easier because it is mostly downhill.
