This picturesque destination has 45 RV sites as well as three tent camping sites where visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and surrounding natural areas. Fairplay is only 86 miles from Denver, but you'll find plenty of things to do right in town, even if you don't leave the resort! Middlefork is a dog-friendly resort, and there's also an on-site dog park where your pet can run and play free of their leash.
There are 33 full hookup sites to choose from, as well as 13 pull-through sites, and each site can accommodate a double slide-out. Sites can fit vehicles up to 50 feet, and 20, 30, or 50-amp electric is available, as is city water and sewer hookups. Guests can also use the on-site dump station and laundry room or spend some time in the clubhouse and meeting room. Sparkling clean restrooms with hot showers are available for guests, and the resort also offers RV storage if you need it.
The Middlefork RV Resort has private ponds that are stocked with trout, and visitors can also fly fish on the South Platte River. Several restaurants and shops are within walking distance of the resort, and there are ski hills only 33 miles away. If you're up for a hike, head to the Mosquito Range and its five mountains that exceed 14,000 feet. For a quick hike, opt for the Hayden Meadows Trail. This one-mile roundtrip journey has little elevation gain and is suitable for all skill levels.
Tent camping sites begin at just $17 per night, and guests can stay for up to three nights. Electric-only RV sites start at $30 nightly, while sites with full hookups go for $40.
