Mountain Vista Campground

Pack up the family (furry members included) and head for the mountains -- the Pocono Mountains, that is. It is here in Pennsylvania's higher elevations that you will find Mountain Vista Campground, a privately owned outdoor haven for families seeking unplugged fun. 

The grounds offer RV, tent, and cabin camping, with access to clean bathrooms and showers on the premises. Furry patrons are only allowed on the actual campsites and may not enter any buildings, including the cabins, so stick with RV or tent camping if you want to bring your doggo along (of course you do!). Campers have access to a store on the grounds where you can stock up on food items, toiletries, ice, and firewood, making your whole experience in the woods as easy as could be. There is also a cozy little laundry room for guest use.

Rates to stay here start at $40.75 per night for early season bookings on a basic site. Large pull-through sites and lean-tos can cost as much as $56.75 a night during peak summer times, and you can expect to pay anywhere from $90 to $150 for cabin rentals. Keep in mind that any guests you invite into the park will also have to pay a daily fee of $6.

There are all sorts of fun things for your family to do while at Mountain Vista. Hop into a game of basketball, volleyball, softball, or badminton and follow it up by challenging a friend to a game of giant checkers or Jenga. Parties with live entertainment are scheduled throughout the summer months and your kids will be thrilled with the extraordinary activities provided, like sluicing for treasures or firetruck rides!

Your doggo is going to love the dog run here, where they can stretch their legs and chase other woofers between 10 AM and 6 PM each day. When they are anywhere else in the campground, you'll need to have them leashed and on their best behavior. No matter where you are, please remember to clean up after your pup so that this wagtastic facility stays canine-friendly. Don't forget to bring proof of vaccinations with you, as they will be required at check-in.
