North Sandusky Campground is a pawesome camping destination in southern Illinois. North Sandusky Campground has many sites—118 to be exact—and each one is equipped with electric hookups, picnic tables, lantern poles, and campfire rings with grills. The nightly fee for a site is either $16 or $24, depending on the type of electricity you need to use. There are lots of great amenities at the campground as well. They include a playground, a volleyball court, benches, a boat dock, and a disc golf course!
There are lots of places that you and your pooch can explore while you’re staying at North Sandusky Campground. You might want to check out the Rend Lake Bike Trail, a 9.4-mile paved trail that welcomes furry friends on-leash! The trail is suitable for all skill levels—just make sure you pack some sunscreen during the summer because there aren’t many trees to provide shade.
You can also head to Rend Lake for some aquatic activities. The campground’s boat dock provides convenient access for boating, and fishing is also a popular pastime at the lake. If you want to go for a swim, you can walk south to South Sandusky Campground where you’ll find a pleasant swimming beach.
When you’re planning your trip to North Sandusky Campground, note that each site can accommodate either four tents or one RV and three tents. Also, remember to check in with the gate attendant when you arrive so you can get your vehicle and site tags. Please remember to keep your furry friend leashed at all times, and be sure to clean up after your dog as well!
