If you’re looking for a Texas welcome, top-notch amenities, and a location just a bone’s throw away from downtown Austin, Oak Forest RV Park is a furrific place for you to park! As you might expect, the resort features full RV hookups, including water, electricity, and sewage, as well as restrooms and showers. Laundry services are available, and there’s a trash pick-up service (though only for two days a week). You can even get free cable TV. More importantly, there’s a pet area where your furry friend can run free!
All this does come at a premium, of course -- rates start at $55 a night, with discounts offered for weekly and monthly stays (the park does have a few full-time residents).
You and your buddy certainly won’t be bored during your stay! Non-furry family members may not even need to leave the resort to have a good time -- there’s a pool, fitness center, and bocce ball court on-site. Venture a little fur-ther afield, though, and you’ll find all kinds of Fido-friendly entertainment. The Zilker Botanical Gardens are a real mutts-visit for budding naturalists, and they welcome wagging tails with open arms as long as they stay on-leash.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to pup-centric activities, though! Make no bones about it, any water-loving pooch will have a whale of a time at Red Bud Isle, a park surrounded on three sides by water and which allows any doggo to take an off-leash dip. There’s no shortage of dog-friendly restaurants, either. Consider stopping in at the Yard Bar, a combination restaurant-dog park which even features its own doggy menu! Banger’s Sausage House does a special "Woof Wurst", and a percentage of their profits is donated to a local dog charity. Their people menu isn’t bad, either!
WiFi is available at Oak Forest, and most cellular networks should receive decent coverage. Unfortunately, fires aren’t permitted, but you’ll find drinking water available on-site. Remember to bring waste bags for your four-pawed pal, and have a pawesome time at Oak Forest RV Park!
