Olive Ridge Campground is a wonderful campground that rests in the heart of northern Colorado. It is a part of Rocky Mountain National Park, a sweeping expanse of woodlands and mountains that stretches nearly 300,000 miles. The campground is a great location for your next camping trip, as it provides a scenic setting where you can relax, catch your breath, and enjoy the amazing natural features the Centennial State is known for. Because the campground is dog-friendly, you can even bring your pooch along with you!
Olive Ridge Campground is relatively large, offering 56 campsites, 26 of which can accommodate RVs. The sites have 14'x16' tent pads, and each site can fit up to eight people. There are also two larger sites that can accommodate 10 people, but note that these sites cost more. The campground is shaded by pine and aspen trees, and the roads throughout the premises are gravel and dirt. You will have plenty of activities to pursue while you’re staying at Olive Ridge; Rocky Mountain National Park is known for its amazing hiking and wildlife viewing, and its main entrance is close by. There are also a few other trailheads that connect to the campground and lead you through the surrounding forest. You can head to nearby Lake Estes for some boating or fishing as well.
To make your camping trip a great experience, you will want to keep a couple of things in mind. Note that the nightly fee is $15.75, and there is a higher fee for the oversized sites. Also remember that pets must be kept on-leash at all times. Finally, be aware that you are in an area where bears are common and take appropriate safety measures.
You and your pooch will love Olive Ridge Campground, and you’ll be glad you decided to venture off the beaten path!
