Description

One Mile Campground is a furrific location for your next camping trip with your dog! The campground rests in western Colorado’s Gunnison National Forest, a sweeping expanse of woodlands, hills, and mountains that encompasses over 1.5 million acres. It is popular among Colorado campers because of its amazing setting near lots of sites for recreational activities. It has earned its reputation as one of the top campgrounds in the area, and you’re sure to have a great time camping there with your furry friend.

One Mile Campground has eighteen sites available, and each of its sites can accommodate up to six campers. The nightly fee for a single site is $28, and there is also a $4 charge for electric service. If you don’t plan on staying overnight, you can pay the day-use fee of just $4. At each campsite, you will find a picnic table and a campfire ring, and drinking water is also available at the campground. The campground is located next to the picturesque Taylor River and is well-shaded by aspen and lodgepole pine trees.

If you’re looking for ways to fill your time while you stay at One Mile Campground, you will have plenty of options. The Taylor River is a great location for trout fishing. You can also visit the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area or head to the Summerville or South Lottis trailheads for a hike. Other trails in the area include Doctor Park Trail, Taylor River Trail, and Taylor Vista Trail.

Make sure that your dog remains on-leash at all times throughout your stay. If you’re interested in having a campfire, it is recommended that you use locally sourced firewood. It is available for purchase at the campsite for $6 per bundle. Please note that non-registered guests must pay a $5 trash collection fee for each bag of trash they have.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
