Pawnee is a fun-filled campground that has tons of great amenities for campers! Pawnee is located on beautiful Brainard Lake and has 47 campsites that can accommodate tents and RVs. If you are bringing an RV, just be aware that Pawnee doesn’t have any water or electrical hook-ups. The daily fee for this pawesome campground is $21.00.
While you’re at Pawnee, you and your dog will be able to find lots of fun things to do together. If you love hiking with your pup, there are a few trailheads located just a short distance from Pawnee. These trails provide access to the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, which is adjacent to Pawnee.
One of the closest trailheads to Pawnee is the Mitchell Lake Trailhead. This trailhead offers access to two furrific trails: the 0.9-mile Mitchell Lake Trail and the 2.5-mile Blue Lake Trail. Both trails take you along scenic Mitchell Lake and up steep slopes that provide amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
If you’re hoping to spend your camping trip out on the water, Pawnee is also a good choice for you. Many people enjoy boating in Brainard Lake, which is also a popular a place to go fishing for freshwater trout. There are also plenty of lakeside benches throughout the campground where you can relax with your dog and enjoy views of the water.
After you’ve finished with the day’s activities, you and your pup can enjoy the campground’s amenities. There are a few grills in the campground you can use to cook dinner for you and your dog. Plus, each campsite comes with a picnic table and a campfire ring.
The campground asks that you double-check the amenities of the site you'd like to book before making your reservation. Once you've reserved your spot, you won't be allowed to move, so it's your responsibility to ensure your site can accommodate your vehicles and camping equipment.
