Pike Community

If you're looking to camp in the mountains near Woodland Park with a group of friends, the Pike Community Campground is the pawfect place! This spot can house up to 100 people. There's space for 48 vehicles, but you won't have any hookups here. This pawtastic facility offers recreational fun for the whole family. Pack your volleyball and baseball gear when you come. You'll find a horseshoe pit, ballfield, and sand court on site. Other amenities include picnic tables, a fire circle, and running water.

The campground sits in a forested grove at a high elevation. In addition to the on-site recreational facilities, there are hiking trails, biking trails, and a small lake nearby. Use the Centennial Trail to explore the area on foot or your bicycle. This paved pathway stretches from Woodland Park in the south to Manitou Lake in the north. Pass through pine forests and by wildflower-dotted meadows on the furrific trek. Watch for bighorn sheep, mule deer, hawks, and other wildlife as you travel. 

Prefer to spend some time on the water? Bring a non-motorized boat and try your hand at fishing in Manitou Lake. This 5-acre pond is home to some trout and other cold-water species. Off-road enthusiasts will enjoy the Rainbow Falls and North Divide OHV Trail Systems in the area. At the end of your day, gather back at the fire circle for s'mores and conversation.

You're more than welcome to share your camping vacation with your fur-baby. They can stay with you if you keep them on a short leash. Don't let Fido chase any wildlife! Scoop any poop so that you leave no trace of your visit to the forest. 

Make your reservations early at this pawpular campground. The facility is a well-loved spot for reunions and other group outings. There are fun activities for all ages here. Remember that bears live in these woods. Follow safety guidelines by storing your food and other attractants in sealed containers.
