Pine Grove Furnace State Park is a large camping area located in Pennsylvania near the northern tip of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Most of the campgrounds are available for RV campers, but there are tent camping sites as well. There is one cabin on the property that can hold up to six people if you don't have another means of camping. Reserving these camping areas is recommended to make sure that you have a spot to set up when you arrive at the area.
The campgrounds include pit toilets and showers, as well as a playground. In some locations of the park, there are restrooms with flush toilets. Picnic tables are also located throughout the park for guests to enjoy a nice meal.
If you and your family are looking for a fun time, there is swimming on the beach as well as boating. If you don't have a boat, there are rentals available in the park. Fishing is very popular in both Laurel and Fuller Lakes. Hiking along the Appalachian Trail is also a lot of fun for many guests. There is even an Appalachian Trail Museum that guests can visit for a history lesson on the area. The rail trail is a common biking destination in the area for those who like a bit of a challenge during their ride.
Pets are allowed in the campgrounds. Dogs must be kept on leashes at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. Dogs are not allowed in any building, swimming area, or non-pet overnight areas, which are marked as such. If your dog is aggressive, you may be asked to leave the park. Additionally, pets are never to be left unattended in the park. Dogs are permitted on the trails as long as they are kept leashed throughout their time on the trail.
