Description

If you're looking for a great place to relax and get close to nature, Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area has you covered. This local favorite offers clean facilities, peaceful grounds, a lake, and stellar fishing and hunting opportunities. Whether you come in the hot months or when the snow falls, this park is ideal for an outdoor adventure.

Camping at Pleasant Creek is a treat in itself. The sites are private and well-manicured, and the restrooms are kept spotless! Each lot comes with its own picnic table and fire ring, and some sites offer electric or full hookup options as well. There's a dump station on-site along with water hydrants for all your drinking and washing needs. At this park, they also offer four cabins for rent -- three of which are totally pup-friendly, so bring Fido along regardless of where you end up crashing. Rates to stay start at $6 for a primitive site during the off-season and go up to $19 for a full hookup lot during the summer months, with cabins going for a standard fee of $35 per night.

While you're here, be sure to check out the newly-restored Pleasant Creek Lake -- a manmade lake where campers can paddle, swim, or fish to their hearts' delight! Though it hasn't quite reopened yet, the beach is set to be functional come 2020, when the lake has fully filled up. Be aware -- depending on when you visit, the mosquitos can be feasting, so be sure to bring the appropriate clothing and bug sprays. Back on shore, the woods make for a lovely place to take your pooch for a walk, as there are over 8 miles of trails for you to discover!

Speaking of your furry friend, if you're into hunting with your doggo or you'd like to see how good of a partner they would be, this park has an area designated for dog trials. For the rest of the pooches, staying on-leash in the campground area is requested -- and no matter where you end up in the park, please clean up after your barky buddy!

To escape to the lake, add Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area to your dream campĀ list!
