To kick back and relax Kansas style, head straight to Pomona State Park -- home of Pomona Reservoir, a place where all kinds of fun are not only permitted, they're encouraged! From golf to water skiing, there's something for every kind of camper at this facility.
The accommodations are as vast as the activities, with all kinds of hookup options available at the 400-plus campsites and several cabins up for grabs as well. While the sites are all pooch-friendly, the cabins don't allow our furry friends to stay inside. A shop on-site lets guests stock up on everything from fishing bait to firewood, and drinking water is provided throughout the grounds. There is also a dump station, laundry room, and even a motel at this state park, meaning you'll have everything you could possibly need at your fingertips!Â
To enter the park, you'll have to purchase a parking permit which will set you back $5 per day. Overnight fees start at just $10, with cabins ranging from $55 up to $95. You'll also need to acquire a camping permit in addition to the parking permit.
Most of the action here can be found down by the water, where campers laze around on the beach, go for a dip in the lake, or head out on top of the waves in kayaks, canoes, or motorboats. At the pier, you can cast lines to your heart's content or just sit back and enjoy the scenery. Challenge your friends to a game of basketball, volleyball, or horseshoes during your stay -- and be sure to take to the trails with your four-legged camping buddy!
Speaking of your doggo, be sure to keep them on-leash while you're in this park and remember to clean up after them so that canines stay welcome in Kansas state facilities. Management asks that you never leave your woofer unattended during your visit, either.
For a classic camping trip on the lake, be sure to check out Pomona State Park!
