Red Haw State Park

If you and your pup want to go camping by a beautiful lake, Red Haw State Park is perfect for you! This park’s campground is located on scenic 70-acre Red Haw Lake, and many of the campsites offer stunning views of the water. Dogs are welcome to join you in this pawesome campground, and the nightly rates begin at $6.00.

One of the most popular activities at Red Haw State Park is hiking. The park has two multi-use trails: the 4.2-mile Lake Loop Trail and the 1.1-mile Lower Lake Loop Trail. Both of these trails go along Red Haw Lake, and they offer amazing views of the bright blue water. As you’re walking along these trails, you may get to see some of the park’s many native bird species.

Many campers also enjoy swimming, boating, or fishing in beautiful Red Haw Lake. If you’re bringing a boat, canoe, or a kayak, the park has two boat ramps you can use to launch your boat into the water. Just be aware that the lake is a no-wake zone—only electric trolling motors are allowed. If you enjoy fishing, you can try your luck catching freshwater fish in the lake, including large bluegill, crappies, catfish, bass, and more.

While you’re at Red Haw State Park, you can also spend time relaxing and enjoying the campground’s amenities. Each campsite comes with a picnic table and a campfire ring where you can build a roaring fire. If you’d like to grill up dinner for you and your dog, charcoal grills are available at the park’s scenic lakeside picnic area.
