Redstone Campground can be found among the dense greenery of the White River National Forest. This campground contains some relatively modern amenities, including public showers and a free public playground.
Redstone provides guests with seven different sites to choose from, all of which can handle anything from tents to full-sized recreational vehicles. Each site contains fire pits and picnic tables, and 17 sites have electrical hookups. Electrical sites will cost you a bit more at $36.82 along with an additional $5 per night charge, so keep this in mind when planning your trip. For guests looking to book during a holiday, there'll be a $2 a night surcharge in addition to the base rates.Â
Potable water is found at a few locations throughout the grounds, as well as three sets of vault toilets. A public shower and indoor restroom facility are centrally located on the grounds. Redstone also houses a public playground and sandy horseshoe pits for guests at no additional charge. For guests who've brought a canine along, there are a few stipulations. Dogs need to stay in either a tent or RV with their owner throughout the evening, as well as steer clear of any public shelters or restroom facilities. Visitors are also reminded to bring reservation confirmations with them upon arrival.
Fishing is a popular pastime around Redstone Campground due to the nearby Crystal River. Species commonly seen in the river are cutthroat, brook, and rainbow trout. These areas are considered part of the broader White River National Forest, and as such will allow dogs provided they're on a leash during their visit and owners clean up their waste.
Hiking is available on a couple of trails that climb the nearby Mt. Sopris. This over 12,000-foot mountain provides guests with some truly incredible views of the surrounding forests.
Any would-be guests should keep in mind that prices listed here are for the campgrounds only, and do not necessarily reflect the costs for any of the surrounding recreational opportunities.
