Sandy Beach Camp

On the northern shores of Coralville Lake in Solon, Iowa sits the Sandy Beach Campground, and it could be the pawfect destination for your next camping trip! There are 58 campsites to choose from at Sandy Beach, and dogs are welcome to camp at all of them as long as they're on a leash or in a pen when they're not in your vehicle. Fifty of the sites have electric hookups, some are ADA accessible, and the campground sits among a dense forest with plenty of wildlife.

Campsites at Sandy Beach have campfire rings and grills, and there are also picnic shelters positioned through the campground. Some sites have full hookups while others are standard electric. Daily prices range from $20 to $24 per night. There are also more primitive, non-electric tent sites that campers can walk to for just $14 a night. Some of the campground's other convenient amenities include clean and modern restroom facilities with hot showers, drinking water, a playground, a dump station, and an entrance station. Each site can accommodate six people and up to two camping units. Keep in mind that hunting is allowed here.

The campground's position on Coralville Lake means you'll have access to all sorts of fun activities during your stay! Campers can boat and swim, or fish for smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, and catfish. The campground even has a boat ramp and a fish cleaning station! There are several hiking and mountain biking trails around the lake, as well as prime picnic spots. Other nearby attractions include the Devonian Fossil Gorge, golf courses, museums, wineries, and restaurants.

Each night, quiet hours are enforced at the campground from 10 PM to 6 AM, and campers must check in between 2 PM and 8 PM. Be sure to cancel in advance if you can't fulfill your reservation or you'll be subject to a cancellation or no-show fee.
