Description

Found within Minnesota's 3 million-acre Super National Forest, Sawbill Lake Campground is the perfect escape for nature enthusiasts. The 51 rustic sites can accommodate tents and RVs, however, they do not come with water or electricity hookups, providing visitors with a truly authentic outdoor experience.

Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners during their visit, but they are asked to remain on-leash at all times. Owners are also asked to pick up after their pets and be sure to always keep them hydrated, especially during hikes. Aggressive behavior is not permitted, and if shown, the dog will be asked to leave.

Due to its location being so close to the 750-acre Sawbill Lake, the campground is the ideal location for those who enjoy canoeing. Permits are required for day and night use of the waters. At the nearby Sawbill Canoe Outfitters, you can find equipment rentals for canoes and camping gear, as well as showers, laundry facilities and a convenience store.

At the campground, you can find fire-rings and grills to use at your convenience, as well as trash and recycling bins. The site is equipped with vault toilets and drinking water is available. The campsites are private and shaded, nestled inside of a dense, pine forest, providing campers with peaceful seclusion.

The campgrounds provide access to a variety of nature trails, giving visitors an opportunity to hike, bike and watch for wildlife as they explore the National Forest. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a moose, loon, or even a bald eagle. The forest is known to be home to curious bears, so campers are asked to take the proper precautions with food storage, by keeping it locked away in a vehicle.

If you're searching for a camping destination that will give you a tranquil experience, Sawbill Lake is exactly what you need!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
