If you’re passing through Kansas and need a relaxing night of rest, click your heels together three times and you will end up at Seven Winds RV Park. Named after the roaring winds of the south, the RV park is the oldest RV park in Kansas and possibly the entire U.S. Often used as a resting point by the travelers of Highway 54, the park offers the fundamental amenities for long-term guests or those just passing through. Located just a few miles from the Oklahoma border, the RV park is currently undergoing renovations and upgrades but remains open through the construction.
Featuring pull-through RV sites and grass sites, the daily rate starts at $15, but weekly rates and longer are also available. Each site provides shade and a table for your personal use. Park-wide amenities include a playground, laundry, and shower facilities. There is a gift shop to pick up some trinkets for the family. A complimentary continental breakfast is available daily.
Seven Winds RV Park welcomes pets of all kinds -- lions, tigers, and bears notwithstanding. Toto will find many trees to take shelter under if any tornadoes come about. There are many nature trails to take your pooch for a walk, or in a bicycle basket, if they prefer. Watch out for flying monkeys!
If you take a short trip into the town of Liberal, Kansas, you will discover retail shops, grocery stores, and local restaurants. Take the munchkins in your family to the town’s water park or the ever popular Dorothy’s House, a celebration of The Wizard of Oz movie that ingrained Kansas and tornadoes into popular culture.
Seven Winds RV Park is a low-key, bare-bones spot for weary travelers to rest their head for a night or several nights. Free wifi is provided for guests, along with the comforts of home at an affordable price.
