Sharp Creek

If you want to camp with your pup in a beautiful forest campground, Sharp Creek is perfect for you! This campground is located in Tonto National Forest, and it has an elevation of 6,000 feet. The campground offers 20 large, shady sites.

While you’re at Sharp Creek, you’ll find plenty of great things to do with your dog. If you want to do some hiking during your trip, the Highline National Recreational Trail is just three miles down the road from the campground. This scenic trail is 51 miles in total, and it takes you along the Mogollon Rim Cliff. As you walk along this cliff, you’ll get amazing views of the desert far below. You can also go for treks with your pup in the forest around Shady Creek campground. This forest is filled with thick ponderosa pine trees.

If you’re planning on going fishing during your trip, check out Shady Creek, which is just a mile from the campground. You can also go fishing or boating in Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs Lake, which are both just a ten-minute drive away. You won’t have to worry about running out of places to go fishing when you’re at Shady Creek!

After you’ve finished your day’s adventures, spend the evening enjoying Sharp Creek’s many amenities. Each campsite at Sharp Creek comes with its own pawesome picnic table, lantern holder, charcoal grill, and campfire ring. Bundles of firewood are available for purchase from the campsite’s hosts. You and your pup will both have a great time relaxing under the stars next to a roaring fire!
