Description

Welcome to South Fork Campground, a majestic source of nature where RV’s of all sizes can roll in and sidle up to the banks of the Rio Grande River.

There's plenty of space for those who prefer pitching a tent under the stars, and this part of Colorado Country puts on a mesmerizing, night sky show. A rustic log cabin perched in a heavily wooded area offers an opportunity to spend a night or longer in a pioneer-style accommodation. The camp features modern restrooms and showers with a good-sized laundry room.

When you arrive at the camp, the friendly hosts will personally escort you to a site featuring a fairly level gravel pad with a picnic table, fire ring, and well-established trees for shade. Get connected to electricity (30 or 50 amp), plus water and sewer, then breathe in the beauty of this magical setting where life is all about enjoying the tranquil ambiance and choice of things to do.

Access to the Internet is free and you can catch up with your favorite TV programs in the camp lobby.  A playground will keep the kids entertained while a covered pavilion is ideal for clubs and local events. The potluck dinners are always popular and a general store provides camping and fly-fishing supplies. Enthusiastic anglers can catch trout right out of the river, which offers swimming and tubing fun.

If the kids have hidden the family pooch at the back of the RV, they’ll be no problem at this pet-friendly campground, where all woofers are welcome. However, they must be on-leash when outside of a vehicle and supervised by their owners, who are expected to clean up their waste.

South Fork campground opens the door to a paradise of hiking trails and outdoor pursuits, with Beaver Mountain Trailhead only six miles from the camp. Hikers can expect a challenging 3-4 mile walk with breathtaking views. If you’re taking your dog, pack plenty of water to keep them hydrated and on a leash, as wildlife roams the area.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
