Description

South Forty RV Resort and Campground is a waterfront campground open year-round in Petersburg, Virginia. Not only does this campground come stocked with activities and amenities to add comfort to your stay, but its secluded location makes it easy for you to sit back, relax, and marvel in Virginia's great outdoors.

Feel free to bring Fido along with you on this vacation because South Forty is a pet-friendly campground. The only rules you need to be mindful of are keeping your pup on a leash, tidying up after them, and managing their behavior. Excessive barking and aggressive behavior are not permitted and could result in your pooch being asked to leave the park.

Accommodations are flexible, with 114 campsites available. Sites are offered for those looking to stay in a tent, cabin, RV, or another camping vehicle. Rates start as low as $38.70 per night for tent sites. All sites come with water and electric, and of the 114 sites, 68 have full hookup services. This includes water, electric (30 or 50 amps), and sewage.

Most sites are pull-through, making parking conveniently easy. There's a 60-foot restriction for vehicle size and a dump station within the campground for RVs to access. All sites are gravel, shaded, and come with both a picnic table and fire ring. Grills are also available for campers to utilize.

There's a variety of ways to spend your day while camping at South Forty Campground. For starters, the fully stocked fishing pond is perfect for those looking to relax by the water with their pooch. The pond is a catch-and-release pond, so the fish are always abundant.

Other opportunities for entertainment include having lunch in the picnic area, which is "fur-tunately" also paw-friendly. Cool off in the swimming pool or relax by the water, but find an alternative for your pooch because the pool area isn't dog-friendly. There's a variety of nature trails ideal for novice hikers that range in length. If you want to hit the water with your pup, take them for a boat ride in your own boat or a rental, as they're available at the campground.

If you're a dog lover searching for a new camping destination in Virginia, you're in luck because South Forty RV Resort and Campground has amenities for both you and your pup!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
