Sunset Lakes Resort

Minutes from the great Mississippi River in Illinois, Sunset Lakes Resort is a premier RV and camping resort featuring a vast array of amenities so sublime you’ll never want to leave. This resort, which is part of the nationwide Sun RV Resorts conglomerate, features plenty of recreational opportunities, including tennis and basketball courts, miniature golf, a playground, and a fitness center. If you get hungry from all your outdoor activities, there is an on-site food service, as well as an on-site store. There is both a swimming pool and a lake with paddleboat and canoe rentals.

This pet-friendly resort is pawsitively a dog’s dream. It features a lake for swimming and a dog park where the dogs can frolic in the shade. There are many hiking trails if Fido wants to explore the great Midwest's nature trails.  

RV rates are typically $46 to $74 per night. The RV sites were recently upgraded to include concrete pads and patios. In addition to RV hook-up sites, Sunset Lakes Resort offers two-bedroom vacation rentals accommodations and a separate area for tents. While named for the main lake on the property, Sunset Lakes resort boats five lakes in the immediate area.

Just 15 minutes from the Mississippi River and the Quad Cities, it’s a short drive to a riverboat cruise. One cruise sets sail at twilight, showcasing the mighty Mississippi River in the moonlight. The Niabi Zoo and the Family Museum of Arts & Sciences are also located nearby if you’re looking for educational family fun! If you’re a fan of the television show American Pickers, the business Antique Archeology is located near the Quad Cities.
