Description

Timberline Campground is a top Colorado camping destination surrounded by Pike National Forest, which spans over one million acres in the area west of Colorado Springs. Its great natural features and pleasant vibe attract numerous campers every season, making it the perfect spot for your next camping trip! You’ll have access to its great facilities and lots of outdoor activities in the surrounding area. You can also bring your canine companion along too since the campground is pet-friendly!

Timberline Campground offers 24 sites, and each site can accommodate up to eight campers. The nightly fee for a site is $22, and double sites are also available for $44. Note that none of the sites offer hookups.

You’re sure to love the campground’s awesome surroundings: the Aspen trees nearby and mountains in the distance create an unforgettable backdrop for your camping trip. And the amenities at the campground will also ensure that you have most of the things you need throughout your stay at Timberline. These include picnic tables, fire pits with grills, and vault restrooms.

There are a number of fun activities you can check out in the area around the campground. One of the highlights is the Colorado Trail. This trail runs over 471 miles and is a terrific spot for hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing. If learning about local history is your thing, you can stop by the town of Fairplay. There, you can find numerous historical sites and a museum.

There are a few things you should keep in mind when you’re staying at Timberline Campground. Please note that drinking water is not available at the campground, so you will have to bring your own. Forest Road 125 is a gravel road which is not accessible for vehicles without a license; call ahead if you're planning to camp in your rig. Also remember to keep your dog leashed at all times and to clean up after them. Finally, note that the campsite is in an active bear area, so you should take the necessary precautions.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
