Do you like beautiful beaches, quiet forests, huge lakes, and gorgeous waterfalls? How about if all of the above were in one convenient location? At Union Grove State Park, you and your pooch can spend hours enjoying the great outdoors while you discover the hidden gems that make this spot a favorite among locals.Ā
The options when it comes to staying at this park overnight (or longer) include cabins, double sites, full-hookup lots, and tent-only ones -- even though the campground itself isn't that big. With so many choices, you should be able to find a spot that suits your family perfectly. Accessible drinking water and an on-site dump station are also provided at the facility. One reason we love this state park is that puppersĀ are totally allowed inside of the cabins -- so remember to be respectful and leave the building as you found it to allow future canine visitors!Ā
To get into the park, you'll need to purchase a parking permit for $6 a pop. Overnight fees for the campsites start at $6 for a tent-only campsite in the off-season and go all the way up to $19 for a full hookup site or $38 for a buddy site in the summer months between May and September.Ā
If you're looking for things to do while you're here, head straight to Union Grove Lake. There, you can kayak, paddleboard, canoe, or putter around on a motorboat (at slow speeds only) to discover all 110 acres of water. If you're more of a land lover, spend time sunbathing at the beach orĀ take to the woods with your doggo in tow and try out the three miles of trails that circle the lake.
Your pooch is allowed all through the campgrounds, but keep them from going on the beach or entering any buildings. Also, be a good advocate for our four-legged pals by cleaning up after your fur-baby and throwing out all pet waste in the receptacles provided.
For a classic getaway camping by the lake, Union Grove State Park has all the bases covered!
