Description

White Mountain National Forest protects some 800,000 acres of New Hampshire and Maine's White Mountains. Home to magnificent alpine peaks, clear mountain streams, and dense hardwood forests, it's a pristine haven for nature enthusiasts.

Waterville Campground is one of many camping facilities located throughout the forest. Sitting in the center of Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, this secluded campground offers pet-friendly sites and an excellent base from which to explore everything that White Mountain National Forest has to offer.

In particular, many visitors are drawn to this campground because of its proximity to a number of excellent hiking trails. Swimming, fishing, hiking, and whitewater paddling are also available, while a golf course and the popular Gunstock Ski Resort are just a short drive away.

Surrounded by northern hardwood trees and majestic mountains, the peaceful campground sits adjacent to the Mad River. Open from mid-May to mid-October, Waterville Campground offers a number of standard and tent-only sites spread out around a single loop. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, with sites priced at $18 a night. If you want access to other amenities such as shower and laundry facilities, you'll need to be willing to take a short drive. Don't forget to bring confirmation of your reservation with you, as this is required at check-in.

However, the best feature of this tranquil camping spot is that pets are more than welcome to stay with you -- provided you follow all posted rules and regulations. For example, you'll need to keep your pet leashed and under control when in the campground. As always, it's also essential that you clean up after your dog whenever the need arises.

Apart from that, all you need to do is relax and enjoy your time in this pristine national forest. White Mountain offers the sort of unspoiled wilderness many travelers are willing to hundreds of miles to find, so make sure you take the time to experience it all with your canine companion.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
